I liked many of the 2023 finalists and some of the non-finalists, but didn't love the 2023 winners, especially Educated Mind and Cities and the Wealth of Nations. Both because they were imo very wrong, and because they weren't wrong in particularly interesting ways. They seemed more like ... normal popular intellectual writing more than they did like previous contest winners.
Obviously, extremely subjective.
(But Njal's Saga got the most votes, and was great)
